Royal Armouries

In partnership with our long-standing colleagues at Counter Culture LLP – see https://www.counterculturellp.com/ – we have been appointed to assist the organisation in the business planning that will underpin the Armouries development and future.


The Turner Rooms

In conjunction with Amion Consulting, we were appointed to analyse the economic potential of the development of the plot of land adjacent to Turner Contemporary.


Value Retail

We are proud to have supported the opening of Cristina Oria’s new restaurant and Kiosk at Laz Rozas Village, a stunning addition to the Village. Additionally, we are working with the landmark Barcelona brand Flax & Kale, on their forthcoming restaurant opening in La Roca Village.


Sessions Art Club

Following its success in Dubai, Cabin Studio decided to relocate its business to London. Duncan recently joined as a partner in Cabin Studio, driving all aspects of the business planning and subsequent business development. Sessions Arts Club is a new joint venture between the Swedish Property Company, Sätila Studio, and Cabin Studio. The Arts Club will open its first UK site in Sessions House in spring 2020.


Arts Council of Wales

Tonic were appointed by Arts Council of Wales as part of their Resilience Programme to offer a wide range of commercial support and advice to cultural institutions across the Principality. This support ranges from business reviews to developing strategies to maximise commercial performance. Recommendations include branding and design advice, product review and development, staffing and service development and the sourcing of new Catering Partners. This project is ongoing.


Leeds Playhouse

Tonic were appointed to support the Leeds Playhouse team during the opening phase of the Theatre following the recent redevelopment. Tonic provided design, branding, layout and furnishing strategies, ultimately enabling the in-house team to mobilize the Cafes and Bars business successfully.


Somerset House

Congratulations to the team at Somerset House and Compass for the arrival of Bryn Williams outstanding new Restaurant in the Admiralty Rooms. We enjoyed supporting Somerset House during the design phase. Bryn’s food experience is fabulous and worth checking out. Friday evenings are buzzing.


Wolseley Café at Bicester Village

For over a year, we worked with our colleagues at Value Retail, to bring the Wolseley Cafe to Bicester Village. Delighted that this new outpost of the legendary Piccadilly restaurant opened in 2018.


The Skinners’ Livery Company

In partnership with Counterculture LLP – a long standing associate business of Tonic’s – we were engaged by the Skinners’ Company to support them on the development of a Business Plan at their building in the City of London. The Skinners’ are an innovative Livery Company, looking to prepare their business for the future. Our focus was analysing the Skinners’ premium Event business and working with the design team to ensure the proposed development works would deliver the Skinners’ a business fit for the future.

Hull Truck Theatre

HTT contracted us to review their current catering provision and support them in finding a catering provider who can join them on their journey of growth and development. An operator who could fit with the HTT culture of being welcoming and accessible to all, whilst providing a high-quality product and service. Tonic advised, driving this operators search and appointment, identifying and reaching out to a variety of great local candidates.


Shan Shui

The beautiful Shan Shui Restaurant opened in September, 2019 at Bicester Village. Congratulations to Ellen Chew and her fabulous team.


PARIS SECRETS

From the beginning of 2018, we worked on a new retail concept called Marxito in conjunction with Thierry Marx and an amazing French team. Pleased to report that the first Marxito store, designed by Ora Ito opened in September.


Burberry

Worked with the team at Burberry to bring Thomas’s Café to life within their flagship store on Regent Street. The fusion of food and retail comes to life in Burberry’s contemporary British style.


Isle of Harris Distillery

Congratulations to ISLE of Harris Distillery Managing Director Simon Erlanger, who was announced 2018’s Scotland Director of the Year for Medium-Size Businesses by the Institute of Directors. We worked alongside Simon as the Distillery project was being formed: not too long to wait for the first Whisky now and their Gin is drinking well.


ICA

Supported the ICA in its master planning for the future and in assisting to bring Arnold & Henderson to the gallery as their new Catering partner. Melanie Arnold and Margot Henderson have changed the game, bringing their contemporary British fare to ICA. Definitely one to try.
